The Moon in Scorpio

Not the easiest sign position for a moon, the moon in Scorpio seeks to satisfy their deepest needs through relationships with other people. Unfortunately, other people are often disappointing, leaving the Scorpio full of frustratingly intense, often unresolved, emotions that their secretive and self-protective nature isn't willing to work through by communicating. When they do try to express their feelings with words, they often strike out with harsh verbal lashings. So usually, they feel they must constantly find the strength to work through them on their own.


This requires time alone. But don't let this time alone let you believe that they are detached. The Scorpio feels relationships intensely, but their private nature doesn't want to expose their feelings. These are the people who find themselves crying alone when the rest of the world thinks they are fine.

They never want to be thought of as weak and they never want to give anyone tools to use against them. When feelings are shared with others, a person is exposed. The Scorpio moon is keenly aware of this and won't allow this exposure and the power it gives others over them. They won't give anyone anything they can later use against them.

The Scorpio moon's aura is intense and controlling.

The Scorpio moon has a serious nature. It is not frivolous or whimsical. Rather, it is deep and heavy. Feelings and thoughts are intense and the Scorpio

never rushes through them. Thoughts and ideas are pondered and feelings are thoroughly worked through. A concern over gains and losses consumes the Scorpio moon. Although it's more about the possibility of losses, they are acutely aware of what can be gained or lost in any interaction, business or personal. The Scorpio moon is constantly calculating the odds and weighing the possible losses. This way of thinking rules their decisions, making them shrewd in business and careful in romance. Even though their feelings are intense and they long for intimacy, they don't rush into committed relationships.

They may have casual fun that poses no risk of loss, but real commitments require time to contemplate. When a commitment is made, they must be willing to share with their mate, and although they are willing to do this, they want to be sure that what they share is meaningful and won't go to waste. The idea of sharing what they have is intense for them; however, if they decide another person is worthy, they are willing to share and give fully and generously but never foolishly. They always realize that things could end, or they could be taken advantage of by anyone, including their significant other, children or extended family.

If a Scorpio moon truly lets you into their world, it is because they have decided they can trust you. They still won't completely expose themselves to you, but you'll be closer than most. Although they will always reserve a share of their privacy, it will often feel that they are pealing away yours. If they love you, they will want to examine you and know you as completely as possible.

This dynamic also serves to maintain a high level of control. The more they know about you and the more they keep private about themselves, the more control they have. This is not a completely conscious process. In the moon position, a sign operates in "auto" mode. Its motivations are felt as drives and are not given conscious choice, so the Scorpio maintains control without plotting to do so. In other words, they can't help it. It's powerful, however, and you always feel it in their presence.

They also practice a great deal of self-control. As a fixed sign, this comes easily to them. Their greatest challenge is practicing this self-control when it comes to their emotions. Because they are also a water sign, they feel emotions deeply, but their strong desire for self-control drives them to control these emotions. They never want others to know if they are having an emotional breakdown inside. The Scorpio moon is skilled at hiding it from others, and although, they will work through it enough to get on with their lives and not have others realize anything is wrong, they never forget. If the emotions involve another person, that person is forever branded in their mind as the one who caused them pain.
